Density

Explanation: When the fluids particles are heated, they move faster. As they move faster, the particles occupy more space, causing the density to decrease.

In a convection current, as the temperature of a fluid increases, it's DENSITY decreases.

When a fluid is heated, it expands. With expansion, the density of the fluid decreases and the fluid starts to rise up. As the fluid rises up, it cools and so its density decreases and it starts to fall down.
This process repeats as long as the fluid is being heated. That's why we have a convection current.

Eventually all of the water will reach thermal equilibrium. The final temperature will be the average of both initial temperatures.

Explanation:

If two liquids, one hot (that is, at high temperature) is in indirect contact  with another liquid which is cold (that is, at low temperature), a flux of heat will be transferred from the hot water to the cold water which will result in hot liquid losing temperature and cold liquid increasing its temperature. This flux will continue until an equilibrium is met and the temperatures are equal.

Explanation: with a great tolerance to a wide range of conditions the species would adapt and thrive which would allow it to reproduce and have all it needs to survive, grow, and take over.
