Question: What is the authors purpose for using the transitional word however?

‘Assuming this is the question you’re referring too’

However can be used in different ways depending on the context surrounding the word, but the main reason for this is to oppose a counterclaim you may have used in something such as an argumentative essay. Or to show the reader opposing statements

1. The repetition helps create the poem's calm, contemplative mood.

2. It helps stress the idea that the woman, though poor and old, is greatly soothed by the simple pleasure of eating the plums.

3. It represents the simple pleasures that make life worth living, which helps give the poem its positive tone.

When thinking about poetry, sometimes it is helpful first to think about whether the overall feeling of the poem is positive or negative. If you can narrow it down to something even more specific that is better. But for now, let's give this poem the broader label of positive. For the first question, the fact that the poem is positive eliminates the first two answer choices. To determine between the last two, you could ask yourself how positive? Is it over the top excitement, or simple happiness. The words "comforted" and "solace" help to create the calm and contemplative mood as well as the repetition.

For question 2, the first option is incorrect because the entire scene isn't being described, just the woman. The second option doesn't work because we have no indication that the woman knows she is being observed. The last one is just silly because there is nothing to suggest the speaker is hearing the sound of the woman sucking the plums from afar.

For question 3, the first two can be eliminated with the positive vs negative strategy. The last one should also be eliminated because the plums aren't luxuries. The woman has an entire bag of them.

AOB = 55°

BOC = 87°

COD = 130°

AOD = 88°

Step-by-step explanation:

AOB = a°

= 55°

BOC = b°

= 87°

COD = c°

= 130°

AOD = 360°-AOB-BOC-COD

= 360°- a° - b° - c°

= 360° - 55° - 87° - 130°

= 88°

So we have the formula: c= \frac{d}{p}
where
d is the distance in kilometers
p is the petrol in liters
c is the petrol consumption in kilometers per liter

We now for our problem that  David drove a distance of 187 km, so d=187. We also know that  he used 28 liters of petrol, so p=28. Lets replace those values in our formula to find the petrol consumption:
c= \frac{d}{p}
c= \frac{187}{28}
c=6.67857

Now, remember that are some rules to determine the number of significant figures in a number:
1. Non-zero digits are always significant figures.
2. A zero between tow significant figures is always a significant figure.

Applying those tow rules we realize that c has 6 significant figures, whereas d has three significant figures and p only two. In mathematical operations with significant figures, the answer should be given with the same significant figures as the number with least significant figures involved in the operations. In our case, that number is p, and p has two significant figures, so our answer should have 2 significant figures. To give our answer with 2 significant figures, we are going to round it:
c=6.67857
c=6.7

We can conclude that the patrol consumption of David's vehicle is 6.7 kilometers per liter.

Part 1:

The table showing the decreasing debt is shown as follows:

\begin{tabular}
{|c|c|c|c|}
Starting Balance&Interest Accrued&Payment&Closing Balance\\[1ex]
\$1,853.42&\$22.39&\$400&\$1,475.81\\\$1,475.81&\$17.83&\$400&\$1,093.64\\\$1,093.64&\$13.21&\$200&\$906.85\\\$906.85&\$10.96&\$200&\$717.81\\\$717.81&\$8.67&\$200&\$526.48\\\$526.48&\$6.36&\$200&\$332.84\\\$332.84&\$4.02&\$200&\$136.86\\\$136.86&\$1.65&\$138.51&-
\end{tabular}

The column for interest accrued is obtained by the folmular

I=P(1+0.155)^{\frac{1}{12}}

where P is the month's starting balance.

Part 2:

From the table, the last payment is $138.51

Part 3:

The total amount paid by the time the credit card is payed of is the summation of the "payment" column of the table.

Thus, the total amount is given by:

Payment\ total=2(400)+5(200)+138.51=\$1,938.51

Part 4:

The debt ratio is given by

Debt\ ratio= \frac{debt}{limit} = \frac{1,853.42}{3,000} \approx0.62

I'm using the following rules:

Rule 1: log(x*y) = log(x)+log(y)
Rule 2: log(x/y) = log(x)-log(y)
Rule 3: log(x^y) = y*log(x)
Rule 4: sqrt(x) = x^(1/2)

log[ (x^2*y)/(sqrt(z)) ] = log[ x^2*y ] - log[ sqrt(z) ]   Use Rule 2
log[ (x^2*y)/(sqrt(z)) ] = log[ x^2 ] + log[ y ] - log[ sqrt(z) ] Use Rule 1
log[ (x^2*y)/(sqrt(z)) ] = log[ x^2 ] + log[ y ] - log[ z^(1/2) ] Use Rule 4
log[ (x^2*y)/(sqrt(z)) ] = 2*log[ x ] + log[ y ] - (1/2)*log[ z ] Use Rule 3
log[ (x^2*y)/(sqrt(z)) ] = 2*a + b - (1/2)*c Use Substitution

So
log[ (x^2*y)/(sqrt(z)) ]
will break down into
2*log[ x ] + log[ y ] - (1/2)*log[ z ]
which is equivalent to
2a + b - (1/2)c
when a = log(x), b = log(y), c = log(z)

So that's why the answer is choice (4) 2a + b - (1/2)c

To graph a piecewise function, simply graph both functions. However, if, for the function it says something like x>0, erase the function for the values of x not greater than 0. The domain is what the x values can be, and the range is what the y values can be.

I have a hard times putting graphs so I'll just put the answers and say how to graph with paper
so we notice that if we solve the second equation (3+y=6), we get a value for y and no value for x so just draw a horizonal line at the point 3 on the y axis

then make the second equation into slope inercept form y=mx+b
x-2y=2
2y-x=-2
2y=x+2
y=1/2x+1
just put in values for x and get y values, then plot points and get line
find where the line inercepts/crosses the first line (3+y=6) and that is the solution

OR

so a the solution is when both equations are true so just assume both are true and solve for x and y

x-2y=2
3+y=6

first of all the second equation is easy
3+y=6
subtract 3 from both sides
y=3

so we subsitute 3 for y in first equation
x-2(3)=2
x-6=2
add 6 to both sides
x=8
y=3
the solution is the point (8,3)
