Our company is committed to ensuring that employees, visitors and contractors are kept as safe as possible whilst at any premises owned or under the control of the organisation. On discovering a fire, you should operate the nearest alarm, evacuate the building as described below and report the nature and location of the fire to the company’s fire warden.

Quickly and calmly evacuate to the nearest assembly area.
Where there is anyone with mobility impairments, utilise the evacuation chair (if trained in its use) or escort them to a “temporary refuge point” i.e. stairwell or corridors protected by 30 minute fire doors and remain with them if appropriate.

If you have looked for a tally board that you know is missing from its usual location, then report this to the company’s Fire Warden.
Fire wardens should assume their designated duties. Ensure all staff members and visitors/contractors are accounted for.
DO NOT attempt to fight a fire unless you have been trained to and it is safe to do so.
