GenZ believes they are the originators of current fashion trends?
Are they correct?

Fashion is constantly evolving, but it's also recycled through the years. Trends come and go, but certain styles always seem to find their way back into popularity. This is especially true when it comes to fashion trends from the past 50 years. GenZ may think they started trends with crop tops, high waisted jeans and leisure athletic wear, but all of these items were popular in past decades and slightly tweaked. We do need to credit GenZ for utilizing some of the fashion trends and making them stand out. Formal short dresses and sneakers (dad sneakers and wedge). There was also a strong emphasis on individual expression, with many people incorporating their own unique style into their outfits.
In the 1970s, the trend was bold and expressive fashion. Popular trends included bell-bottom jeans, platform shoes, tie-dye shirts, halter tops, crop tops and peasant skirts, blouses and other apparel from the hippie culture. Some of the most iconic fashion items from the 1970s have made a comeback in recent years. In comparison, with today’s fashions, you will see many women inspired from styles in this decade. GenZ rocks the crop tops, the middle hairline part and a more comfortable approach to womens’ lingerie including not wearing bras or wearing camisoles under clothing attire. GenZ loves peasant blouses or skirts with modern details like ruffles and embroidery. According to the book "Fashion the Definitive Visual Guide “ in the 1970’s short skirts were replaced by long, loose A-line dresses. Reminiscent of dress lengths in Victorian times, these floor skimmers wowed with flower patterns, paisley prints, feminine fabrics, and softer shades.” Long printed dresses are not as popular anymore, instead jean shorts and skirts and short skirts or flowy long skirts are more in style in today's fashion.
Some of the most popular fashion trends from the 1980s have continued to remain fashionable. The 1980s were all about big hair, bright colors, and loud patterns. Popular trends included neon colors, leggings, oversized blazers, and shoulder pads. There was also a growing highlight on fitness fashion, with many people wearing workout clothes outside of the gym. You will see similarities in trends today with fashion work out clothes such as tight yoga pants, cargo workout pants and oversized shirts and sweatshirts that girls wear outside of working out. Shoulder pads were very popular in the 1980s but so far GenZ has not embraced those as much. Mullet hair styles, acid wash jeans, oversized blazers, leather jackets, band jackets were very in style for mens and womens fashion. In the 1980’s, a high waisted jean look was trending but unlike the 1980s which featured more of a tapered leg approach, the 2020 “mom” jean has shown similarities in using a high waisted look but couples it with the boyfriend jean bottom leg look of the 1990s. It could be debated that Gen Z had an original fashion idea with this jean style, but it appears the style is really combining two older trends to pull off this look for our fashion decade. The 1980s was big on sportswear. I think tracksuits / one- piece suits are making a comeback because people loved the movie Mean Girls and still rave about that movie. The look is comfortable yet sexy too. According to the article Exploring Iconic 1980s Fashion Trends: a stylish throwback Nike Air Jordans started becoming big which made sneakers more popular, Jordans are still very popular today too and one of the biggest sneaker companies.
The 1990s were a decade of grunge fashion, minimalism, and sportswear. Popular trends included flannel shirts, ripped jeans, and Doc Martens boots. There was also a growing emphasis on comfort and individuality, with many people dressing in a more casual way. Jean styles varied, but ripped jeans and the boyfriend straight leg look were staple in women’s closets. Gen Z has reused some of the fashion from the 90s which includes overalls, high tops, combat boots and oversize flannel shirts.
The 2000s were a decade of low-rise jeans, and Juicy Couture velour tracksuits with a growing impact on fashion from celebrities. Juicy Couture velour tracksuits have form fitting which is a trend that is popular throughout the last 20 years. However, if you trace the velour tracksuits back to the time of their initial popularity, you will find they started in the 1970's. This shows another fashion trend that has been repeated and lends doubt that GenZ was an originator of this fashion trend.
The 2010s were a decade of athleisure wear, Popular trends included low rise and skinny jeans, jeggings, North Face fur jackets, crocs, Uggs and “dad” sneakers. GenZ was an initiator in wearing these fashions. Athletic gear like sports leggings, bike shorts and tight fitting tops made brands like Lulemon an overnight success. Nike, Adidas, Under Armour all battle the market for the youth and athletic gear that are worn daily. Towards the end of the decade, there has been a growing emphasis on sustainability and ethical fashion, with many people choosing to buy clothes from brands that are committed to environmental and social responsibility. GenZ should be credited with this movement.
The 2020s have seen a continuation of many of the fashion trends that were popular in the last 50 years. Popular styles today include oversized silhouettes, bold colors, statement accessories, bomb jackets and gender-neutral clothing. It’s now trendy to shop thrift and consignment stores in an effort to promote sustainability and find original and individual pieces for your wardrobe. Many people are now choosing to buy clothes from brands that are committed to environmental and social responsibility with manufacturing of clothes. Another fashion trend of the 2020s that GenZ can be noted for is inclusivity with fashion. More and more brands are offering a wider range of sizes and styles to meet the needs of all body types. This is a positive development, as it makes fashion more accessible to everyone. Although GenZ may not be the originators of many popular fashion styles, I believe they have re-invented and blended many looks, bringing back some nostalgic trends that all generations recognize and appreciate.

Answer: B. the uncontrollable power of nature.

In this passage, we can see how powerful the colossal Moby-Dick is, and how frail and insignificant humans appear to be by comparison. When Ahab wants to fight with the whale, he is completely helpless and is easily defeated and injured. The power of the whale is a symbol that represents the incontrollable power of nature.

Answer:

Louis Daguerre's motivation to begin experimenting with light sensitive materials was so that he and others would be able to capture an image from a still moment in time

Step-by-step explanation:

Early photography and Daguerreotype Medium.

Louis Daguerre invented a new process he dubbed a daguerrotype in 1839, which significantly reduced exposure time and created a lasting result, but only produced a single image.

Louis Daguerre called his invention "daguerreotype." His method, which he disclosed to the public late in the summer of 1839, consisted of treating silver-plated copper sheets with iodine to make them sensitive to light, then exposing them in a camera and "developing" the images with warm mercury vapor.

Daguerreotypes became an equalizer among classes. No longer were likenesses only created for the super rich. An average person could walk into a portrait studio, sit for an image, and have the same product as the millionaire down the street. The popularity gave rise to picture factories

Views of modernity and capitalism heavily influenced Daguerre’s discovery because his main goal was to improve and modernize the process previously used to capture images and to upgrade what he saw using camera obscura.

People could start to develop a visual history, not only the rich could afford to have a portrait made, and people could collect images of their friends and family.

Step-by-step explanation:

Thoreau states, “… When an acorn and a chestnut fall side by side… bothobey their own laws…” (3). This can be interpreted as success being obtainable withoutthe assistance of another. The acorn and the chestnut are two individuals that are uniquein their own way yet had the same result. The same goes for people; for those reachingthe same goal as another, it is much better to do it under your qualities and your own way.The purpose of this passage was for Thoreau to inform his audience on his viewson the government and its negative affects on civilization. With its restrictions, peoplecannot fully live up to their potential because the bureaucracy will always limit them.Thoreau wants his audience to become successful in their own manor and uses theserhetorical devices to sync with his readers

Step-by-step explanation:

In the passage "Boston Navy Yard and the 'Great War,' 1914-1918," the author presents a detailed account of the history of the Boston Navy Yard, specifically focusing on its transformation during World War I. The author develops the significance of this transformation by providing historical context, describing specific events and changes at the Navy Yard, and highlighting the impact of the Yard's actions on the war effort.

The author begins by providing historical context for the Boston Navy Yard, describing its establishment in 1801 and its role as a major naval shipyard for the United States. This sets the stage for the significance of the Yard's transformation during World War I, as it was a key player in the war effort.

The author then describes specific events and changes that occurred at the Navy Yard during the war. For example, the author notes that the Yard's workforce grew from 2,500 workers to over 20,000, and that the Yard's production of ships and submarines increased dramatically. The author also describes how the Yard adapted to the changing needs of the war, such as by building subchasers and convoy escort ships.

The author also highlights the impact of the Yard's actions on the war effort. For example, the author states that the Yard's production of destroyers and submarines helped to tip the balance of the war in favor of the Allies. The author also notes that the Yard's actions played a significant role in the success of the convoy system, which helped to protect supplies and troops being transported across the Atlantic.

Overall, the author develops the significance of the Boston Navy Yard's transformation during World War I by providing historical context, describing specific events and changes at the Navy Yard, and highlighting the impact of the Yard's actions on the war effort. In lines 578-579, Mrs. Keeney tells her husband why she wanted to sail with him: "I wanted to see
you the hero they make you out to be in Homeport." In what way does the voyage change the way she sees her husband? Cite evidence from the play in your answer.
Mrs. Keeney sees that her husband is a hard man who can be brutal toward his crew in pursuit of
his goal. In lines 650-653, she tells him, "You want to live up to your silly reputation even if you do
have to beat and starve men and drive me mad to do it."
At the end of the play, Captain Keeney breaks his promise to his wife, even though he says he loves
her. What is the motivation for his behavior, beyond simple economic opportunity?
Keeney's pride pushes him to put his goal of
getting the oil ahead of any feelings for his wife. He needs to get the oil to feel strong and to prove himself. At the same time, he denies that his wife is really going mad, saying, "I know you're foolin' me" (lines 892-893). He may feel justified in staying "jest a little while longer" at sea because he can't believe she is actually losing her mind and because she insisted on making the voyage in the first place.
