Option D

Explanation:

When writing a persuasive essay you need to include the topic you will be speaking on in the first paragraph in order to let the reader know what the essay will be about as long with a few details that you will be discussing throughout the essay. So the best answer would be "students should be allowed to pick their own clothes for school" because you are trying to persuade the school board to allow the students to wear their own clothes.

Hope this helps.

1) I think that there is a sentence which embrasses all the needed points which should be listed : The lack of parental discipline and concern frequently results in severe problems for both the child and the parent. It is sort of conclusion of such points : the lack of discipline, the lack of respinsibility, example of people who are still not ready for having children, neglecting own duty, late awareness.

2)The pattern of development which would best fit the topic ''The Freshwater and Saltwater Flounder" is definitely comparison/contrast due to conjunction and, of course due to the fact that there is two type of fishes that live and develop in completely different conditions which means there ae many aspects of contrast.

3) I am pretty sure that the pattern of development which would best fit the topic ''An Hour in the Dentist's Office" is spatial order. I think that we should depend on the fact that there is a location in the name of topic, so we can predict that there can be a description of objects and other things  to their physical position.

4) It seems to me that the pattern of development would best fit the topic
"Boggstown--How It Used to Look" - is particular to general. I consider this way of developing as there is a central object on which the tone of the story will be focused - that is usual for ''particular to general'' texts.

D) Alcott wrote by hand and had to learn to write with her left hand as well, since her right hand would cramp after hours of writing without stopping.

Explanation:

This is the sentence that best goes with the topic sentence of the paragraph. In the topic sentence of this paragraph, we learn that Alcott wrote more than many other authors of the same time period. Therefore, a sentence that accompanies this would have to mention the fact that Alcott wrote a lot. By telling us that Alcott wrote by hand, and that her hand would cramp after hours of writing, we are able to support the statement that Alcott wrote more than most authors.
